Gordon Murray reimagines the McLaren F1 with two limited-edition supercars

Gordon Murray, the father of the mythical McLaren F1, has reimagined his iconic creation with two new limited-production supercars — the road-legal S1 LM and the track-focused Le Mans GTR. Both were unveiled at The Quail today, 30 years after Gordon Murray’s historic Le Mans win in the F1 GTR.

The GMA Le Mans GTR is a long-tail, track-focused evolution of the GMA T.50. Powered by the naturally aspirated 4.0-litre Cosworth V12 paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, it features a redesigned aerodynamic package without the T.50’s rear fan system. The car will be limited to 24 units, each representing one hour of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and all have already been sold.

The GMA S1 LM is a road-going commission inspired by the 1995 McLaren F1 GTR, which was designed by Gordon Murray during his time at McLaren. Based on the T.50S Chassis, it has a larger 4.3-litre naturally aspirated V12 producing 690 hp, also paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. Only five examples will be built, all commissioned by the same lucky buyer.

Both models continue GMA’s philosophy of lightweight engineering, naturally aspirated power, and manual transmissions, combining modern performance with classic driving engagement.
