Known as the most successful motorcar in the history of rallying, the Delta HF Integrale has won every world championship between 1987 and 1992. Born in 1987, after the suppression of the infamous Group B in 1986, the Delta Integrale was conceived to withstand the rules of Group A. To obtain the necessary homologation for racing; Group A required a minimum of 5000 cars to be produced. In a very short time, Lancia's engineers changed the front-wheel-drive sedan into a real monster.” They increased the overall engine’s displacement to 2-litres, they fitted a Ferguson viscous central differential and the rear Torsen limited slip differential from the S4. All these changes produced a successful car, that won its first competitive outing right away, the 1987 Montecarlo rally, and achieved an impressive array of victories. In 1991, with the introduction of the Evoluzione version of 210hp, which was produced until 1992 and replaced by the EVO2 the following year, the Delta reached its final stage. The Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione Martini 5 was introduced in 1991 to commemorate the fifth consecutive title in the World Rally Championship, where the Lancia had dominated, with six victories, placing 20 times on the podium. Lancia, together with Martini, decided to create these cars in a limited and numbered series. Like all the Lancia Delta Evos, they were equipped with the same 16v, 1995 cc engine, but the equipment was very different. The Delta Martini 5, produced in 400 units, presents the iconic Martini Racing livery on the sides, Recaro seats in black Alcantara (produced in the plant in Nera Montoro, Terni) with red stitching and safety belts. A silver plate shows the serial number. Black air intakes, as well as the rear spoiler. Red tappet cover. The Michelin MXX 205/50 ZR15 tires are mounted on 15 white alloy wheels. Equipped as standard with ABS, manual air conditioning, Gemini electronic anti-theft device with remote control, Clarion CRX 111 R radio with CD changer control and 2 speakers, electric windows and central locking. It cost, new, 56 million LIT. Immediately recognizable from a normal-built Delta, the Martini 5 was a car destined to enter the garage of the wildest enthusiasts.
The 1991 Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione Martini 5, with frame no. ZLA831AB000567940 is the unit no. 149 out of a limited series of 400 ones. It mounts the original 831.E5000 type engine and has covered only 61,570 km at all. It was purchased new at the Concessionaire A.C.M.A. of Martignana di Po (CR) and registered on March 13, 1992 in the province of Cremona, It later changed ownership three times: in 1993, 1996 and 2006. It is currently registered (always in Italy) with a Mantova plate. All documents are in order and updated, inspected to be road-legal. The car is delivered with double keys, anti-theft remote control, use and maintenance manual, services booklet: all original. The car has ASI homologation with Targa Oro and CRS. It is counted in the Registro Lancia. It is accompanied by clearance documents for tire sizes. The car has always been serviced with scrupulous care, entrusted to specialists. The last overhauls carried out are the following: 01/08/2006, at 48000 km: belts, brakes, clutch, engine and transmission fluids. 22/07/2019: service, liquids, belts, tuning.
