The sporty version of the first generation Lancia Delta (the Lancia Delta (Group A)) was successfully entered in the World Rally Championship. Lancia claimed the constructors' title six times in a row (1987 to 1992) and the drivers' title three times (1988, 1989, and 1991). For public roads, there was the Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione, among others. This was equipped with four-wheel drive and a 2.0 four-cylinder turbo engine with 210 hp. Later came the Evoluzione II, which had a total of 215 hp. Consequently, most people know the Delta primarily from this version. It was essentially a rally car for public roads.
