Description

Swiss title
Chassis no. F10 1AC 100 148 33

- "The 2+2 Daytona"
- Original engine

The replacement for the 365 GT 2+2, the 365 GTC/4 was only built from 1971-72. Its chassis was almost identical to that of the Daytona, but lengthened by 10 cm to fit two small rear seats. Its specification, with softer springs and power steering, provided greater comfort than the Daytona. The V12 engine was similar to the Daytona's, but detuned to 340 bhp to give it a character better suited to a true GT. The change to side-draft rather than down-draft carburettors allowed a lower bonnet line, while the gearbox was bolted directly to the engine, rather than the rear transaxle fitted to the Daytona. Replaced quite quickly by the 365 GT/4 2+2, production was limited to 505 cars, making it a rare model.
Built in 1971, in a Griogio Argento and black livreay, this example was exported to the United States by Chinetti, the agent in New York. Just two owners enjoyed it before it was acquired by its current keeper, a Ferrari enthusiast who bought the car from the dealer Exotic Classics in New York and then imported it to his home in Switzerland. It has since been maintained by Modena Cars, the official dealer for the marque in Geneva. It is a fine example in excellent original condition and will be supplied with paperwork (bills) and its books. These 365 GTC/4s make great GTs which are very pleasant to drive, thanks to their flexible V12 engines and power steering.

New information had been provided by Ferrari historian Marcel Massini: the original livery of this Ferrari 365 GTC/4 #14833 was a Grigio Argento paint with a Nero Cogolo intrerior, a very desirable color scheme. The car hasn't had 2 owners since new but 8.

Lot from outside the EU: In addition to the commissions and taxes indicated above, an additional import VAT will be charged (5,5% of the hammer price for vintage/classic cars, 20% newer/modern motorcars).
