Touring Superleggera Disco Volante glistens in green and gold for Geneva

Worried about your coachbuilt Alfa Romeo looking too common in red? One customer was – so asked creator Touring Superleggera to paint his Disco Volante in a stunning green-and-gold scheme…

The otherworldly Disco Volante made its debut in conceptual form back at the Geneva Motor Show in 2012. Now, after being revealed in production-spec guise at last year’s fair, the Italian coachbuilder will display a customer-order car on its 2014 stand.

Wearing a green-and-gold scheme that might very well have caught the eye of a certain Mr Chapman, the all-Italian beauty appears to have been to some degree anglicised. Some will argue that the more restrained colours don’t suit the form of the eccentric spaceship, but we certainly approve here at the Classic Driver office (although personally, we’d decline the red grille and exhaust inlays). Anyway, take a look through our gallery above and decide for yourself.
