Should Callum build this Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake?

Building on their Aston Martin Vanquish 25 restomod, Ian Callum’s design studio has revealed this stunning Shooting Brake concept. Now they just need the right client so they can build it!

Ian Callum is probably the only automotive designer to restomod a car he originally penned. The Callum Vanquish 25 took Aston Martin’s beloved early noughties grand tourer and made it lower, wider, and smoothed out all the rough edges with a little help from over 20 years of technological advancement. Now Callum is looking to add a little practicality to this iconic British bruiser with the introduction of the Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake.

Using a 2006 model year Vanquish S as the donor car, Callum have designed an arresting shooting brake wide-body formed from carbon fibre and boasting around 600 horsepower from its 5.9-litre V12. While most original Vanquish examples feature an automatic gearbox (and a particularly slow one at that), the Vanquish 25 Shooting Brake will proudly offer a manual gearbox in its bespoke, retrimmed cabin, allowing any lucky owners to row their own gears to their heart’s content.

There’s unfortunately no word on pricing, but expect it to sit somewhere near the coupe version of the Vanquish 25 with its sticker price of 550,000 pounds including a donor car. Considering that everything has been totally rethought — from the carbon ceramic brakes to the suspension, and even the front and rear lights — that’s not a terrible deal, and Callum are on the lookout for a discerning client to commission the first example. For the money, would you take this stunning shooting brake over Aston’s very own new Vanquish?
