With our website plug-ins, you can minimise the time you and your team spend uploading individual listings. Once they have been uploaded to the Classic Driver dealer area, they will be mirrored on your website. And the best thing is, it won’t cost you a penny.
When we re-launched our website in 2013, we made sure each section was built with Google optimisation algorithms in mind. This means that Google can find your listings a lot more easily if you implement our plug-in – thus increasing their global visibility.
It’s somewhat ironic that one of Porsche’s best-selling cars is also viewed by some as one of its great failures. While the 914 brought Porsche ownership within the grasp of the masses, it was widely criticised for being underpowered, overpriced and most un-Porsche-like in appearance. The latter was intentional; marketing strategies dictated that the designers make the joint venture between VW and Porsche unrecognisable next to predecessors from either stable.
Coys’ inaugural Athens auction last year saw an array of curiosities go under the hammer, and this year’s sale is equally diverse. How about a Lancia Stratos chassis (€30,000 – €35,000), with a separately sold selection of parts (€20,000 – €25,000)? Or if you prefer your cars intact and restored, the rare Alfa Romeo 1900 AR51 (€14,000 – €16,000) might tempt you. Also carrying a reasonable estimate is a 1965 Panhard CT 24 (€4,500 – €5,500), one of the few cars in the sale not to have Greek provenance.

During WWII, the Italian government sent many ‘expired’ cars, motorcycles, trucks and tractors to the Righini family scrapyard, where they would be reduced back to their raw materials. However, the family had the foresight to save some of the more significant machines from tragic terminations – and these became the basis of the remarkable Righini Collection that exists today.

The conversion was carried out by Will Trickett who, in the process of chopping 300mm from the 1989 412’s roof, also added some other unique features, all in a bid to create the ‘ultimate builder’s workhorse’. These include a luxury yacht-inspired teak rear deck – though for pots of paint and ladders rather than bikini-clad sunbathers – and improved rear suspension for those extra-heavy loads.
