Arriving in Milan in the height of a heat wave, one couldn’t help feeling apprehensive — a field of classic cars was about to head off on an epic four-day tour, encompassing Monza, St. Moritz, Davos, Arosa, and Lugano, and I knew the temperature would prove challenging, as much for me as the machines.


It’s no secret that Italian stallions, such as the dreamy 1966 Alfa Romeo Duetto and 1972 Lancia Fulvia Zagato, are classic pairings with summer weather, but we shouldn’t forget the great British offerings that are poised to take advantage of any fleeting sunshine they may encounter.
