Heritage. It’s all the rage these days, with manufacturers across the board keen to capitalise on their histories (regardless of their notability) and the increased interest in older cars. But while the proverbial bandwagon is now groaning under the weight of all these purveyors of rose-tinted eyewear, there are a select few companies who’ve recognised the importance of preserving their legacies for decades. And one of those is Alfa Romeo.

Taking place on 1–3 September, this year’s Concours of Elegance will feature the electric mix of exotic metal we’ve come to expect, and as the digital media partner, Classic Driver is once again delighted to host its photography competition. The winner will receive VIP tickets to the event, comprising breakfast, lunch, and, of course, champagne, as well as a limited-edition Pullman Editions event poster. What’s more, nine runners-up will also receive a pair of standard tickets.

The Williams Formula 1 team is marking its 40th birthday this year and, as you’d expect, it’s celebrating in style. At last weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, the team’s Heritage arm, which was founded in 2014 with the express purpose of showcasing, running, and maintaining the team's back-catalogue of machines, was out in force running two cars — the FW14B and FW08B six-wheeler — and displaying a further three.

Goodwood’s annual summer festival has already come and gone in speedy style, and choosing just one favourite moment from the past four days is nigh on impossible, as there are simply too many to choose from.
