Spearheaded by a beautifully original ‘Carmine Red’ 1963 Citroën DS 19 Cabriolet (est. 180,000–220,000 euros), Aguttes Vente d’été sale takes place this Sunday in Lyon, France. The 34-lot automotive catalogue features collector cars for most tastes and budgets, from 1980s hot hatches such as the Renault R5 Turbo 2 (63,000–73,000 euros) and the rare Volkswagen Golf GTI Oettinger (35,000–45,000 euros) to a tidy looking Porsche 550 Spyder recreation built by Martin and Walker (60,000–70,000 euros) and an ultra-cool 1972 Citroën DS Break 21 Export. 

The new £185,000 McLaren 600LT follows McLaren’s three previous ‘Longtail’ models, the F1 GTR, 675LT Coupé, and 675LT Spider. In the same vein as those special cars, the 600LT is an extreme track-biased limited-production version of the ‘standard’ 570S, encompassing a silhouette elongated by 74mm, a 96kg reduction in weight thanks to the extensive use of carbon-fibre, and a 30HP increase in power.

Rarity is found in surprising places and the Aston Martin Virage is a very good example of this. The mainstay of Aston’s range during the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Virage was the last Aston Martin to be fully hand-built at Newport Pagnell.
