Housed in an early 20th Century factory formerly home to the Beaulieu camera company, the Espace Automobiles Matra in Romorantin-Lanthenay is a secret shrine to a great Gallic carmaker that, tragically, no longer exists. It was founded by the mayor of Romorantin in 2003 and comprises 70 of the marque’s cars in addition to a raft of engines, presented with the same reverence as historical artefacts.

A graduate of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, Ken Okuyama helped to shape the modern supercar landscape during his tenure at Pininfarina. In more recent years, he’s designed a number of audacious concepts such as the Kode57 and the Kode Zero, both of which have appeared for sale in the Classic Driver Market. 

In the Classic Driver Market, there’s currently a raft of 1990s and early-2000s Bentley Arnages, Turbos, and Continentals priced below 50,000 euros. In fact, there are several as low as 20,000 euros. Remember, these cars new were the preserve of the ultra-wealthy and often extensively personalised to represent their tastes. As a result, no two are exactly alike.
