Production-ready Audi Quattro to debut at Frankfurt?

Without doubt, Audi wouldn’t be where it is today without the original Quattro of the 80s (and a healthy dose of capital from the Volkswagen Group, of course). At the 2010 Paris Motor Show, the firm paid homage to the car's 30th anniversary by showing a slick conceptual tribute.

Three years on and it seems that a small-series production version might have been green-lighted by the Ingolstadt big-wigs. Rumours in the automotive press have sparked up again this week, and then been further fuelled by these official design sketches of Audi’s 2013 Frankfurt show car.
