Ruf quartet set to cross the auction block at Amelia Island

Ruf make some of the finest driver’s cars found anywhere on the planet, and not one but four of their fantastic tuned Porsches are coming up for auction at Gooding & Company’s Amelia Island sale.

Any Porsche fan worth their salt probably has one of Ruf’s creations high up on their must-own list, and if that applies to you, then you’re in luck, because four of Ruf’s best models are up for grabs at Gooding & Company’s Amelia Island sale on March 3rd. Starting with the oldest of the bunch, we have a gorgeous 1997 Ruf BTR2. This yellow slice of 993 goodness is powered by a 3.6-litre flat-six equipped with a stonking turbo which powers the rear wheels only with an an impressive 414 horsepower. Other upgrades over your common or garden Carrera include 30 mm lowered suspension, stiffer anti roll bars, and a limited-slip differential. All-in, this looks to be a wickedly fast driver’s car, but stay tuned because there’s three more where that came from.

Next up we have a pair of high-performance twins: two 1998 Ruf Turbo Rs in Coupe and Cabriolet guises. Both are powered by a 993 Turbo-derived 3.6-litre flat six capable of putting out 490 horsepower, albeit in this case connected to an AWD system which should make this pair easier to manage than the aforementioned BTR2. Capable of reaching 204 mph in coupe form, these are two seriously quick Porsches that would make for one hell of a two car garage.

Saving arguably the best until last, we present to you a 2007 Ruf RK Coupe. Penned in collaboration with Ruf by Italian carozzeria Studiotorino, the RK drew inspiration from the legendary Porsche 904. Based on the 987-gen Cayman, the RK’s name hints at the gargantuan engine fitted to this pocket rocket. RK stands for Ruf Kompressor, so behind the driver you’ll find a supercharged version of the 3.8-litre flat six from the 997-gen 911 capable of a Ferrari 360-beating 420hp. 0-60 is dispatched in just 4.1 seconds, while this rapid Ruf will reach an impressive 190 mph at full chat. So, if you’ve been dying to add one of Ruf’s outstanding creations to your collection, you know where to look!
