RM Sotheby's – Amelia Island 2019
Held During The Amelia Island Concours D'Elegance
Now in its 21st year, RM's 2019 Amelia Island sale is again set to reinforce the company's clear market leadership. In 2018, the single-day sale achieved $27.7 million with a strong 86 percent of all lots sold, with international attendance from bidders representing 32 countries.
One of the greatest draws to RM's Amelia sale is its location. The island is perched on the sun-kissed coast of Northeastern Florida, providing a grand atmosphere for the midday auction. The auction preview is arranged on the lush oceanfront grounds of The Ritz-Carlton hotel, providing a breathtaking backdrop for the stunning selection of automobiles on offer. Since the inaugural Amelia Island auction in 1999, RM has been the principal sponsor and official auction house of the world-renowned Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. This event honors a significant automobile's personality each year and showcases unique and historic automobiles of all eras on the show field. RM Sotheby's is proud to be associated with the Concours, which amplifies the camaraderie and attendance at the Amelia Island sale while simultaneously benefitting numerous charitable organizations year after year.
With locations worldwide and offering services in a number of different languages, RM Sotheby's has the largest and most experienced team in the industry—and we are the only company that can ensure your consignments are marketed to a truly global audience to achieve the best possible results.
Consignments close mid- to late-January. If you're interested in consigning a vehicle to the Amelia Island sale, please contact one of our knowledgeable Car Specialists, e-mail us, or call us at +1 519 352 4575.

It’s not all Porsche at Gooding & Co’s Amelia Island sale...
Spring will have definitely sprung after Aguttes’ next collector car sale
Aguttes Motorcars is beginning its 2019 in fine fashion with the Spring Sale on 17 March, which, for the first time, will take place at the Espace Champerret in central Paris. Arguably the biggest talking point of the sale from a historical point of view is the collection of 21 significant Citroëns the auction house has consigned in this, the innovative and elegant French carmaker’s centenary year.
These were the true hero cars of the Geneva Motor Show 2019
Is the concept of the motor show finally dead? This year’s Geneva Motor Show certainly didn’t do anything to point to the contrary. We felt there were both fewer stands and fewer attendees at yesterday’s press day than in previous years and with manufacturers who prefer to reveal their latest and greatest cars ahead of the event, either online or in a more Instagram-friendly location (GFG Style, anyone?), there was little in the way of genuine surprises.

Bugatti’s La Voiture Noire is the most expensive new car ever built
On the opening day of the Geneva Motor Show 2019 – six months after Bugatti revealed the limited-production Divo – the marque from Molsheim has done the unthinkable and pulled the sheets off its first contemporary one-off. Christened La Voiture Noire, it’s on target to reclaim the pre-War ideal of elegance.
There’s never been a more important Morgan than the new Plus Six
The 110-year-old Morgan Motor Company has just revealed its next-generation sports car: the all-new Plus Six. And while its traditional styling is not a dramatic departure from its predecessors, it’s underneath and inside the cabin where things have been thoroughly modernised. Firstly, the new Plus Six is the first Morgan to receive a turbocharged engine – beneath the long bonnet lurks BMW’s latest blown six-cylinder, developing 335bhp and 369lbs ft of torque. It’s mated to BMW’s eight-speed automatic gearbox, which rather sadly, is the only option available.
