Do bird streaks on a Jaguar E-type define modern art?

The main goal of the contemporary Britist artist’s latest collection is to “explore the heritage and iconography of species native to Britain”, making the Jaguar E-type the ideal blank canvas, quite literally. “I would like to pay homage to our very own subjects and threatened creatures that we take for granted,” says White, whose signature style blends fine detail with erratic brush strokes to signify the dynamic nature of his subjects.

Arthur Schening merges his passions for historic racing and printed designs

Virginia-based illustrator Arthur Schening has long had an interest in historic racing cars, and has now decided to represent those he considers to be among the most significant as a series of prints. Including such legendary machines as Ecurie Ecosse Jaguar C-/D-types, Rothmans Porsche 956s and Shelby Daytona Coupés to name but a few, the series was created by Schening in Adobe Illustrator. Each print – measuring 13” by 19” and printed on 65lb uncoated cover stock – is priced at $30, with limited editions to follow.

Wheels and heels: David Drebin plays with our imagination

It could be either, but the work simply entitled ‘Wheels and Heels’ by Canadian artist and photographer David Drebin is part of a series named ‘Love and Other Stories’, which depicts solitary women in various stages of a love affair. Let’s hope her car is recovered soon…
