The Porsche 930 Turbo Cabriolet presented here is a French-market example, delivered by Porsche Auto Riviera in Monaco on September 1st, 1989. This 930 features a particularly elegant specification, combining Silver Metallic paintwork (L980) with a full black leather interior (VD). The G50 gearbox was introduced on the 930 Turbo in 1989 and was produced for one year only. It is estimated that just 724 Turbo Cabriolet examples equipped with the G50 gearbox were produced in total.

In terms of equipment, this example comes with all the essentials: a 40% limited-slip differential, a short-shift gear lever kit, and electric Sport seats. The full list of options is available above.

This car has had a total of four owners and has always remained registered in France. It was laid up for a long period and stored in a garage. Its most recent owner began an extensive recommissioning process after acquiring the car in 2017. What started as a recommissioning project ultimately became a full restoration, entrusted to Garage Original Classic in Mougins, known for the quality of its work and its expertise with Porsche models.

The work carried out was completed with no budget restrictions. The sole objective was to return this 930 Turbo to a condition as beautiful and fresh as when it left the factory. The work performed is both impressive and fascinating for any mechanical enthusiast. The body was completely stripped bare, with all mechanical components, wiring, trim and opening panels removed. The shell was then treated by cataphoresis before receiving a full repaint carried out to the highest standards, while retaining the car’s original colour.

The car’s mechanical components have been entirely rebuilt: the engine, running gear and chassis are now as new. Every part refitted to the car was either restored or replaced with new genuine Porsche parts. The original engine and gearbox have been retained, making this 930 Turbo a matching-numbers example. The interior upholstery and soft top are original and have not been replaced; a new soft-top fabric was purchased in anticipation and is also supplied with the vehicle.

The car’s original documentation is present, including its French owner’s manual and service book. We also have the spare key, as well as a brand-new leather-covered dashboard that has never been fitted.

Please note that a post-running-in service will be carried out for the sale following the engine rebuild, by a marque specialist.

Porsche Classic Centre Luxembourg inspected the car after the restoration work was completed and issued a technical certificate confirming the car’s originality, as well as its matching numbers and colours. In addition, we have a complete set of invoices documenting the restoration.

In short, this 930 Turbo Cabriolet is a true time capsule awaiting its next owner, and will leave the Mecanicus premises as if it had just left a Porsche dealership in 1989.

The vehicle is covered by a 12-month Mecanicus Essentiel contract with a coverage limit of €5,000.
