McLaren Special Operations’ new 570GT will have you seeing green

Since 2013, McLaren Special Operations has produced limited-edition models based on great achievements throughout its varied past. In the 20th anniversary of the famous F1 XP GT ‘Longtail’, this year’s exclusive collection will see six special 570GTs finished in a historic hue…

Green light

While we saw nothing but the great blue when we took the 570GT for a test drive in Tenerife last year, the new MSO Collection XP Green 570GT now has us seeing green — with envy. With only six examples set to be built in the iconic ‘XP Green’ finish to honour of the original F1 XP GT ‘Longtail’ homologation car, this special-edition series is the sixth ultra-exclusive, limited-edition model to be produced by McLaren Special Operations — and the most traditionally British yet. Finished with Saddle Tan leather with green inserts and cross stitching, and commissioned only for Europe and the UK, the XP Green 570GT can be had for an extra £21,000 on top of the £145,000 list price, while an upgraded-spec version, which includes the unique colour combination along with a By McLaren Designer Interior, GT Upgrade Pack, and five-spoke lightweight forged wheels, will cost £188,567. And while that almost £200,000 price tag may seem a bit excessive, the one-of-six exclusivity may have you seeing a whole lot more green in the future…
