Aston Martin lifts the lid on the one-off Vantage GT12 Roadster

Aston Martin has revealed the unique Vantage GT12 Roadster, built as a bespoke commission for a private customer by the marque’s in-house personalisation department, Q. The most extreme roadster Aston has ever produced, it’ll make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend…

Stealth rocket

The Vantage GT12 Roadster is essentially a convertible variant of the competition-inspired GT12 Coupé, with (rather understated) bespoke paintwork and trim. Conceived and delivered within a nine-month period, Aston Martin CEO Dr. Andy Palmer says the commission is significant in that it’s the first project to benefit from the incorporation of Aston Martin Advanced Operations – the division previously responsible for low-volume specials such as the One-77, Vulcan and Lagonda Taraf – into the Q department. Initially offered as a means of providing personalised colour and trim combinations, the Q service has been continually expanded, and is now able to take on full-scale design and engineering projects.
