Officine Rossopuro’s BMW scrambler is an Oktoberfest outlaw

We’re not quite sure whether the current Oktoberfest activities subconsciously guided us towards this Italian-Bavarian BMW scrambler – but it certainly wouldn’t look out of place being wheelied through a beer tent…

If you’re a keen biker with a taste for retro style, you might well have heard of Filippo Barbacane, the multi-talented founder of Italian bike customiser Officine Rossopuro. He’s built up a reputation in custom bike circles for producing commissions of the highest order, but this one’s a little different. With no specific end customer in mind, Barbacane had a blank canvas on which to express his creative thoughts.

This led to every last part of the bike being modified or replaced – all to Officine Rossopuro’s impeccably high standards, of course. And while the list of new parts is impressive (Bitubo gas shock absorbers, 4-piston Brembo Gold Series brakes and 45mm front Marzocchi forks, to name just a few), it’s the parts fabricated in-house that are the most impressive. As well as a set of aluminium mudguards, the Italian also managed to fashion the fuel tank from sheet steel. Surely Barbacane deserves a beer for that alone?
