Finarte - 1000 Finarte / Car Auction 2018
It is with great pleasure that I present the catalogue of the auction 1000 Finarte, dedicated to the legendary Mille Miglia,
the historical, unique and mythical Brescia race.
A race, whose re-enactment I had the privilege of organising from 2008 to 2012 and to which I dedicated the exhibition
“90 Years 1000 Miglia” last year, hosted at the Mille Miglia Museum and supported by Finarte.
Fifty years after its frst classic car auction, Finarte returns to the four wheels world. It does so with a thematic sale
focused on the cars that took part in the 1000 Miglia, on those cars eligible for its re-enactments and to the fascinating
automobilia linked to the freccia Rossa.
Finarte’s Automotive Department devotes a lot of attention to historical and iconographic research, in collaboration
with AUTOMOTIVE MASTERPIECES, as well as to provide transparent information on the eligibility and acceptability
of cars to the Mille Miglia historical re-enactment.
The catalogue presents fve cars that ran the Mille Miglia from 1949 to 1955, a car that ran at the Nürburgring and one
car that ran the Grand Prix Ciudad de Caracas.
Among the other cars, the catalogue showcases a rare pre-war vehicle, two barn-fnd, a car with pre-series chassis
number and two modern limited series supercars tribute to the 1000 Miglia.
The catalogue also features a selection of cars that will be only on display during the exhibition days that includes a
number of other automobiles that participated in the race and some exceptional Ferrari. For further information on
these cars, please request the “Special Exhibition” dossier by contacting the Department.
1000 FINARTE at the Mille Miglia Museum: a useful buying guide to purchase the perfect car for the Mille Miglia and
to invest in rare automobiles with a great and documented sporting past.

Meet Patrick Peter – the man behind the Tour Auto
For over three decades, Patrick Peter has promoted motorsport events, both modern and historic. In the 1990s, together with Stéphane Ratel and Jürgen Barth, he helped to revive endurance sports car racing with the introduction of the popular BPR Global GT Series, and in 1992, he held the very first modern interpretation of the Tour de France Automobile.

Celebrate the Ferrari Daytona’s 50th birthday with this Michelotto-built racer
A soft and sultry front-engined Grand Tourer more suited to a leisurely cruise on the Pacific Coast Highway than a maximum-attack blast down the Mulsanne Straight, the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 — or, as it’s universally referred to, the Daytona — was an unlikely race car. But its strong chassis, bulletproof V12, and streamlined body meant the Competizione was reliable. And for smaller privateer outfits contesting endurance events week in and week out, reliability was king.

Aston Martin’s new flagship GT will be called the DBS Superleggera
Poised to replace the Vanquish, the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera will arrive in the second quarter of 2018 as part of the marque’s current product offensive. It’s expected to be more of a performance-oriented car than the outgoing Vanquish, with a considerable power hike over the 600bhp DB11 V12, more aggressive aerodynamic elements, and the extensive use of carbon fibre to keep the weight down. We assume the latter is where Touring Superleggera will come in.

Can Automobili Pininfarina revolt the hypercar market?
Following its acquisition of the legendary Turin design house in 2015, Indian conglomerate Mahindra has launched Automobili Pininfarina — an all-electric luxury car brand which realises founder Battista Farina’s unfulfilled dream of building cars under Pininfarina’s own name.
