Aston Martin Vanquish Zagatos for sale on Classic Driver

A glorious final flourish 

From a rugged desert-coloured 1984 Citroën Méhari estimated at just 3,000–5,000 euros to a stunning 1960 Lancia Flaminia 2500 GT Touring (est. 95,000–110,000 euros), which featured in the latest issue of the sumptuous new British car magazine The Road Rat, the catalogue for Pandolfini Casa d’Aste’s forthcoming Classic Cars auction, taking place on 21 May in the history-steeped Italian city of Florence might be small, but it definitely doesn’t lack interest.

It might have copped out with the name, but McLaren’s new GT blurs the line between Grand Tourer and sports car like never before. You’ll remember the Woking brand already dipped its toe into the world of Grand Touring with the 570GT, though as accomplished a car that was, its inherent sportiness ultimately compromised its intended purpose. The GT, however, has been designed from the outset for long-distance driving. 

There’s an air of Noah’s Ark to The Aston Martin sale this year, an auction that’s been a staple of Bonhams’ British activities over the last 20 years. For 18 years, the sale was held at Aston Martin Works Service at Newport Pagnell, but last year it moved to Englefield House.
