Italian racing royalty offered by Cambi Casa d’Aste in Milan

Cambi Casa d’Aste’s Racing & Sports Cars sale, poised to take place on 24 November in Milan, is spearheaded by the unique 2006 Maserati MC8 GranSport Laboratorio, which is notable for being the Trident marque’s last factory-prepared racer. It was based on the GranSport GT3, though featured numerous technical innovations including a carbon driveshaft and sequential gearbox.

Mighty modern classics from Silverstone Auctions at the NEC

If you can look past the fabulous selection of automobilia up for grabs at Silverstone Auctions’ NEC Classic Motor Show Sale on 10–11 November in Birmingham, there is also a diverse spread of collector cars on offer, including many so-called ‘youngtimers’ guaranteed to put a smile on your face each and every time you climb behind the wheel. Jay Kay, the inimitable frontman of Jamiroquai, undisputedly has great taste in cars – his wonderfully specified McLaren 675LT, painted Chicane Grey and fitted with the F1-esque roof scoop, will cross the block, estimated at £230,000–280,000.

Winged wonders raring to migrate at Aguttes’ Autumn Sale 2018

Would you have the nerve to equip the iconic Bertone-designed Alfa Romeo Giulia with ‘Gullwing’ doors à la Mercedes-Benz 300SL? Rightly or wrongly, one German Alfa enthusiast did just that to this 1976 example, on top of a comprehensive mechanical restoration. The result is curious, to say the least, and bound to divide opinion in equal measure. The unique creation is estimated to make 50,000–80,000 euros when it crosses the block at Aguttes’ Autumn Sale, poised to take place in Lyon, France, on 10 November.
