Now’s the time to buy a Bentley Continental GT

It’s been 15 years since Bentley – that old stalwart of British tradition and luxury – reinvented itself with the Continental GT. It might have been based on the Volkswagen Imperium’s platform, but so far as the equipment and the driving experience was concerned, the ‘Conti’ was among the most impressive cars of its time. While the new generation of Continental GTs has finally hit the showrooms, earlier examples of the GT, the drop-top GTC, and the four-door Flying Spur can be obtained for very appealing prices.

Time-warp Works Lancia Delta spearheads Leclere’s latest sale

The spread of collector cars offered by Leclere Motorcars at its Automobiles in Drouot auction in Paris on 21 October is as varied as it is appealing. We love, for example, the ochre-yellow 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT with its beautifully contrasting red interior (est. 38,000–45,000 euros) and the jewel-like 1969 Alpine A110 fitted with the potent 1300 S engine (50,000–70,000 euros).

The weird and the wonderful from Dorotheum in Salzburg

At its annual Classic Expo Salzburg sale, taking place on 20 October, the historic auction house Dorotheum has curated a large and interesting catalogue of collector cars, catering to a wide variety of automotive tastes. Naturally, if you’re in the market for an exotic Italian you’ll not go far wrong with the 1979 Ferrari 308 GTB (est. 65,000–80,000 euros) or the jaw-droppingly beautiful matching-numbers 1965 Lancia Flaminia Super Sport 3C 2.8 Zagato (340,000–420,000 euros).
