Bid on this trio of forceful Fords at the upcoming RM Sotheby's online sale

In the 1950s, rules stipulated that race teams use colours which represented their countries: Italian cars were red, British green, Belgians yellow, French blue, Germans silver. American entries were painted white with blue accents. Briggs Cunningham’s cars ran two thick blue stripes over his race cars, the livery often referred to as the “Cunningham stripes”. A young Peter Brock was a fan of Cunningham’s cars and by the time he found himself working for Shelby in the Mid-60s he adapted the scheme for the Shelby Fords.
