In the 1950s, rules stipulated that race teams use colours which represented their countries: Italian cars were red, British green, Belgians yellow, French blue, Germans silver. American entries were painted white with blue accents. Briggs Cunningham’s cars ran two thick blue stripes over his race cars, the livery often referred to as the “Cunningham stripes”. A young Peter Brock was a fan of Cunningham’s cars and by the time he found himself working for Shelby in the Mid-60s he adapted the scheme for the Shelby Fords.

At the 2006 Turin and 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, Christophe Schmidt competed in the mens snowboard halfpipe. The athlete, who was born in 1983, has always had numerous interests that went beyond sport. He invested the first money he earned from snowboarding in a Porsche 911S Targa, from 1971 - the begining of a fine collection of classic Porsches. Since then Christophe Schmidt has turned his passion for automobiles into a profession.
