TAG Heuer celebrates the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 with two limited editions

To mark the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7’s 50th birthday, TAG Heuer and Porsche have joined forces for their fourth collaborative effort, resulting in two new limited edition TAG Heuer Carrera timepieces.

As the first Porsche 911 to be christened ‘Carrera’ to show its dedication to motorsport, the Carrera RS 2.7 holds a special place in the hearts of Porscheholics around the world, and clearly some of them work at TAG Heuer. To celebrate the iconic Porsche’s 50th birthday, TAG Heuer and Porsche have released two special editions, borrowing their red and blue colour schemes from the Carrera RS 2.7 itself. First up is the blue edition, which will be limited to 500 individually numbered timepieces. Available with a sporty fabric strap with the Porsche logo and Carrera markings, the blue edition boasts a smooth white opaline dial with two sub-counters featuring an eye-catching “azure finish”. The case is also quite beautiful, finished in finely polished  steel with rhodium-plated indexes and hours and minute hands, intended to hark back to the car’s chrome door handles, mirrors, and window frames. As a finishing touch, you’ll find a blue lacquered Carrera logo on the case side, rounding off a bright and versatile watch.

Next up is the red edition, which is even more limited as just 250 individually numbered pieces will be made. Here, the case is finished in stunning 18K 5N rose gold whose warm tones are complemented marvellously by Guards Red accents throughout the timepiece. Again, the side of the case is embellished with an engraved Carrera logo, while the strap is made of a luxurious red alligator leather. If, like us, you’re dying to add these stunning timepieces to your watch collection, then we’re happy to announce that both can be bought right here in the CD Shop, if you’re quick enough, that is!
