Co-created by more than 3,000 members of Depancel’s enthusiast community, one filled with watch lovers and car fanatics alike, the new Série R01 Black Tangerine is a stunning new addition to the French watchmakers ever-growing line up, and one that we are proud to feature within the CD Shop.
From case to calibre, every detail of the Black Tangerine was shaped by watch and car lovers alike. The result is a bold yet refined design that echoes the spirit of classic sports cars while staying resolutely modern. Its 40x36mm stainless steel case pays homage to vintage grilles, with crisp edges and alternating brushed and polished finishes that play beautifully with the light. A bevelled sapphire crystal crowns the structure, giving the watch sleek ergonomics and wrist-friendly comfort.
The black PVD dial takes cues from retro racing dashboards, with vertical striations reminiscent of air vents and vivid orange chronograph accents for that punch of racing adrenaline. Depancel’s signature “Dashboard” hands and luminous track-style indexes, coated in Super-LumiNova® C1, ensure legibility from dusk to dawn — or from pit lane to the open road. Beneath its exterior lies a Peacock SL-4801 automatic chronograph movement, offering a 55-hour power reserve and a glimpse of its inner workings through a transparent case back. With a 13.3mm profile and 48.5mm lug-to-lug fit, it strikes an elegant balance between presence and comfort.
Each of the 100 numbered pieces comes in a meticulously crafted package — complete with a leather travel case, a 5-year warranty, and unmistakable French assembly flair. This limited-edition piece is now available to order in the CD Shop, and we aren’t expecting these to stick around for long!
