MHD Watches returns to the Roaring Twenties for latest limited edition

Matthew Humphries’ latest limited-edition watch is a modern-day ode to the Roaring Twenties, a period in automotive history when creativity and innovation knew no bounds and some of the most exquisitely engineered cars saw the light of day…

A roaring revival

The Bentley 3 Litre, Alfa Romeo 8C and Bugatti Type 35 are just a few of the timeless car built during the 1920s that Matthew Humphries has taken inspiration from for his new MHD Type 1. The watch’s most striking feature is its four-piece 40mm exoskeleton case crafted from stainless steel, which boasts a range of tactile finishes from knurled to brushed. The three-piece dial design is enhanced by aged Super Luminova, a handy power reserve indicator and a vibrant red seconds hand. Beneath the beautifully considered dial beats a Japanese Miyota movement with 42 hours of power reserve. In the same way a 1920s Grand Prix car implores you to peer closer at the intricacy yet simplicity of its mechanical workings, the MHD Type 1 is begging to be picked up and handled. It’s an object of sheer beauty, of which just 100 will ever be sold.
