Do you have what it takes to complete the 2023 Trans America?

Fancy an unforgettable automotive adventure in the land of the free? The HERO-ERA Trans-America 2023 endurance rally between August 20th and September 9th will be sure to provide you and your classic car with a lifetime of stories.

America and the automobile have been intrinsically linked for over 100 years. While they didn’t invent the car, the USA’s love affair with all things on four wheels has resulted in some of the most coveted classics and some of the greatest driving roads the world has ever seen. Where better, then, to put you and your pride and joy to the test? If the past few years of restricted travel have you hankering for adventure, then you won’t want to miss out on the upcoming Trans-America 2023 hosted by HERO-ERA between August 20th and September 9th.

Over 21 days, you, your navigator of choice, and your classic car will retrace the footsteps of the first pioneers that crossed America’s vast landscape. Starting in Houston, Texas, you’ll traverse wide open plains, imposing mountain ranges, and the great National Parks on a route that wanders way north to the Canadian border and back down to the city by the bay, San Francisco. You’ll get to experience the real America that many never get to see: a perfect playground for historic rallyists to carve their way into the great out door USA, the home of the automobile.

During your three week epic, cowboy territory and the great plains will give way to the Rocky Mountains and high altitude passes. You’ll have to make tumultuous river crossings as you forge your own route across the great divide. Gravel roads will often be your friend as you retrace the footsteps of the first pioneers that crossed these great lands. National parks will be your solace against the dust of the plains, offering a luscious oasis of green flora amongst fast flowing rivers and spectacular wildlife. Those with a head for heights will be able to marvel at the mighty Teton range, while the venerable and ancient trees of the Klamath Forest will leave you humbled.

While an American road trip will usually conjure up images of highways and freeways, the roads that you’ll experience during the 2023 Trans-America will be altogether less straight-forward. Equally, as those of you familiar with historic regularity rallying will already know, you won’t have the safety blanket of GPS sat-nav to guide you on this monumental journey. Instead, a tulip route book will be supplied, while HERO-ERA’s experienced team of officials will be at your disposal at all times to ensure you don’t stray too far from the pack while off the beaten path.

All of the above would be more than enough to justify a trip across the pond in our eyes, but we haven’t even touched on the competition aspect of the event, which will take place on a combination of private lands, remote roads, and race circuits.

If 21 days of motoring across breathtaking landscapes under big skies sounds like your cup of tea, then you’ll need a vintage car built before 1948, or a classic built before 1986 to compete. However, if you don’t own a suitable classic or if you simply don’t want the hassle of transporting your car, HERO-ERA offer an incredible ‘Arrive and Drive’ service that allows you to compete in your choice of their events in one of their impeccably maintained classics. Even better, the entire event, including vehicles and flights, will be carbon neutral thanks to the NET-HERO carbon offset program, so you can soak up all the sights and sounds of the United States with a clear conscience.

So, if you’ve been looking for a challenge and want to experience the USA like never before, then be sure to head over to HERO-ERA’s website, where you’ll be able to read more and sign up for the Trans-America 2023.
