Mighty Mika 

While the catalogue for BH Auction’s Tokyo Terrada sale on 12 January is studded with fascinating cars from a beautifully maintained 1978 Fiat X1-9 and an ultra-rare 1990 BMW M3 Sport Evolution to a white 2006 Porsche Carrera GT, it’s the pair of historic Formula 1 cars offered that really piqued our interest. 

It might be the jaw-droppingly beautiful 1964 Ferrari 250 GT ‘Lusso’ finished in Rosso Cina (est. 1.5–1.75m CHF) that spearheads Oldtimer Galerie Toffen’s Classic Car Auction in Gstaad on 29 December in terms of value, but it’s the rare 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition that’s raised our pulses the most. It’s one of just 343 Heritage Editions (a package that essentially starts and ends with the classic blue and orange colour scheme from the Le Mans-winning Mirage GT40s) and has covered a scarcely believable 335 miles from new.
