These are the cars you were searching for most in 2018

Unconventional doors are in fashion – at least that’s what the top results from the Classic Driver Market web traffic seem to indicate: the scissor-doored Lamborghini Countach took the top spot while the timeless Mercedes-Benz 300SL ‘Gullwing’ was hot on its tail in second place. While true automotive icons such as the Porsche 356 and Aston Martin DB5 continue to enjoy great popularity, the triumphant advance of the ‘poster cars’ is also evident in the Classic Driver Market.

Jingle Bulls all the way with the Lamborghini Urus and LM002

Compared to the brutal and imposing black bull that is the Lamborghini LM002, the Urus is a plump white polar bear, particularly here on Lago di Braies in the Dolomites, which has already frozen over for the winter. Even stood still, you can almost hear the so-called ‘Rambo Lambo’ grunting and pawing the ground in frustration. And don’t for a second think the intimidation will subside.

Monte-Carlo calls for the very first Ferrari 275 GTB prototype

Chassis #06003, the first and only 275 GTB prototype, was built in 1964 with the original short-nosed bodywork and used by Ferrari to develop the forthcoming production cars. It thus underwent many changes, including being fitted with the updated longnose Scaglietti bodywork. The car was sold in April of 1965, though returned to the factory in November of that year, where it was decided that #06003 would undergo further testing to gain information about the model’s then-new transaxle and independent rear suspension.
