CONDITION
This 1950 Volkswagen Volksrod Roadster is a heavily customized, all-steel build based on a 1971 IRS Volkswagen pan and donor body, with extensive metalwork throughout the front and rear body sections. The original Beetle proportions were reshaped into a lower high-boy profile with a pinched nose, smoothed wheel wells, fabricated rocker sections, recessed lighting, and a shortened rear apron. The removable Carson-style top uses a tubular structure with aluminum panels, padding, and black Hartz cloth.
The build has gone through several engine configurations over the years and now uses its 2,332cc supercharged setup. The chassis, suspension, braking, drivetrain, and underbody were extensively detailed as part of the build, with numerous chromed and powder-coated components. The Salmon and Cream interior follows the exterior color theme and includes a custom dashboard, tilt steering column, and concealed controls for the suicide doors. This Volksrod has also been shown extensively, with multiple show wins, magazine appearances, and a feature on My Classic Car.
