Description

model history
A beautifully presented Beetle with a rare colour, period-correct styling and a very special engine.

Offered for sale is this 1973 Volkswagen Beetle 1303, finished in the highly distinctive Maya Metallic (L98A). This colour was only produced for a relatively short period and is now rarely seen, giving the car a particularly authentic and individual appearance.

The Beetle was professionally restored approximately 15 years ago and has been carefully maintained ever since. The overall look has been kept firmly old-school and period-correct, with just the right amount of sporting character.

The car is also FIVA registered, further documenting its identity and status as a historic vehicle.

our car
Under the rear deck is a lively 1641cc Volkswagen engine, built with performance in mind and featuring:
* Twin Weber 40 carburettors
* Performance camshaft
* Lightened flywheel
* New gaskets and seals
* Recent service and fresh oil
* 80 HP measured on a rolling road
* Rolling-road test report included

The result is a lively, responsive Beetle with plenty of character, while retaining the unmistakable feel of an air-cooled Volkswagen.

Period-correct details

The car sits on special period ATS alloy wheels with brand-new tyres, together with Jamex 50 mm lowering springs. A classic Kamei front spoiler and rear rain deflector complete the unmistakable old-school look.

Inside, the car has received plenty of attention as well, including:

* Newly upholstered GSR seats
* Restored GSR steering wheel
* New carpet set
* New luggage-compartment lining
* New three-point seat belts
* Working rev counter, oil-pressure and temperature gauges

The car is also equipped with front disc brakes.
