This is not just any Super 5 GT Turbo, but a rare “Alain Oreille” version. This edition limited to 2000 units (many already lost over time) celebrates the victory of the Renault 5 GT Turbo in Group N of the World Rally Championship, driven by Alain Oreille.
A special series is always interesting for a brand: it allows you to celebrate an event while boosting sales of a model at the end of production. And when the GT Turbo Alain Oreille was launched in 1989, it was exactly these two goals that Renault had in mind. The 5 GT Turbo was born in 1984, and had already undergone a restyling in 1987 (the engine also takes the opportunity to go from 115 hp to 120 hp thanks to a reworked electronic ignition).
In this version, the GT Turbo receives a commemorative blue (Sport Blue 449), rims painted in the same tone and a discreet logo on the door pillar, while losing the red “GT Turbo” sticker. In fact, the ear is both more discreet and more striking: a surprising paradox. The slight external modifications give you a little bit of lateral "tuning", not too much.
This Super 5 GT Turbo in excellent condition has undergone a total restoration, including engine, maintaining all originality, it has a photographic record of the process, as well as a maintenance record.
