Specified from new with a factory script delete, this Porsche 968 is initially a rather unassuming example. Look a little closer a few key details reveal this is something altogether more special; with a set of red Cup alloys, factory MO30 lowered suspension and subtle rear CS badge identifying this as 1 of just 1,923, 968 Clubsports produced worldwide.

Resplendent in a signature coat of Guards Red this example presents superbly, with the rich finish perfectly highlighting the Porsches sweeping lines. Up front the trademark pop-up round headlights give a real sense of 90’s nostalgia, whilst to the rear the large curved glass section perfectly offsets the cars vibrant finish. Overall condition of the exterior is excellent; with a deep consistent shine the bodywork shows with no discernible blemishes or marks, with just a couple of minor stone chips to note upon closer inspection.

Available with a number of options the 968 Clubsport could be had in full lightweight or comfort specification depending on preference. Appointed more toward the lightweight end of the scale this Clubsport features a number of sought after options, including hardback bucket seats finished in Guards Red and was supplied with a factory radio delete, but has since had an aftermarket unit fitted to provide some entertainment whilst on the go. Thankfully the original owner also optioned the 968 with air conditioning to provide a basic level of comfort in an otherwise focused space. As with all Clubsports rear seats have also been removed, contributing heavily towards to 100kg weight saving over a standard 968.

Overall condition of the interior is impeccable; the black fabric seats show free from any signs of wear as does the dashboard and door trim which shows free from any cracks or marks. Switchgear all functions as expected, with just the slightest signs of wear on the gearstick to note in an otherwise immaculate space.

Producing 240 bhp the 3.0L inline-4 from the standard 968 was deemed to be powerful enough to remain unchanged in the Clubsport, with its already lightweight internals and VarioCam (variable valve timing) system already producing an excellent combination of performance and reliability. Thanks to the Clubsports impressive weight reduction of around 100kg (depending of spec) its 0-60 mph time was slashed by half a seconds, dropping to 5.6 seconds, whilst top speed increased to 162 mph.

This example also benefits from a factory limited slip differential paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox, providing an engrossing and entertaining analogue driving experience.

With just over 30k miles on the clock and a recent service by Williams Crawford mechanically the car is in good working order.

Complementing the Guards Red bodywork sit a set of coordinated 17 inch Cup 2 alloy wheels, which are in excellent condition with no marks or scuffs to be found. Matching Falken tyres sit at each corner with ample and even tread remaining.

Clearly specified with a tremendous amount of thought, this 968 comes with the rare optional factory MO30 Performance Chassis Package; with Koni dampers, adjustable suspension, a 30mm hollow front swaybar, a 19mm 3-setting adjustable rear sway bar, front steering spindles and hubs, front 4-piston calipers and 304mm X 32mm Cross Drilled Rotors it completely transforms the driving experience of the Clubsport into something entirely more poised and balanced.

Produced on 17/05/1993 as a Japanese LHD C08 example, this highly specified Porsche 968 Clubsport comes with a host of rare and desirable factory options, including a M220 limited slip differential and extremely sought after MO30 Performance Chassis package. The car remained in Japan for some time before being exported to Dubai in 2006 then coming to the UK for a short stint between 2008-2009. From here the car was then sold to Holland where it remained for a number of year before coming back to the UK with the current owner in 2017.

Since being in the UK the car has been kept largely in storage and maintained by Williams Crawford, with the last service and inspection dated at 13/08/2020. There are sporadic invoices and a number of inspections/registration forms that help to track the mileage and whereabouts of the car, which seems consummate with its excellent current condition however there is little early or regular history. A health check with us upon arrival confirms the excellent condition of the car, with no advisories. It should be noted however that the car was subject to a Cat marker and DVLA inspection in 2009 during its short stay in the UK.

Present with the car is the history file, original 968 Clubsport press booklet and a V5.
