Description

Few cars have shaped the perception of the compact, agile and characterful small car as profoundly as the Mini. When Alec Issigonis' revolutionary concept was introduced in 1959, it set new standards with its transversely mounted engine, front-wheel drive and exceptionally compact dimensions. The Mini made highly efficient use of the available space and, despite its small exterior dimensions, offered surprisingly generous room for passengers and luggage. It consequently became one of the most significant small cars in automotive history.
Its technical concept was only one part of its success. With its direct handling, low centre of gravity and immediate response to steering inputs, the Mini developed a distinctly sporting character from an early stage. The Cooper models in particular played a decisive role in establishing the little Briton as a capable and desirable performance-oriented small car. The Mini Cooper's motorsport successes – above all its legendary rally victories of the 1960s – made the Cooper name famous around the world and shaped its reputation to this day.

Over the decades, the original concept was continuously developed without abandoning its fundamental character. The later Mini Coopers are among the most refined versions of the classic model range. With the introduction of multi-point fuel injection, the 1.3-litre engine was further modernised. The 1,275 cc inline four-cylinder produces 63 hp in this particular specification and drives the front wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox. The Mini therefore combines its original, mechanically direct character with more contemporary engine technology.

The example offered here dates from 1999 and has remained in first ownership since delivery. With just 55,000 kilometres, the Mini offers remarkably low mileage. Particularly appealing is its original red paintwork with a white roof, giving the Cooper the classic and unmistakable appearance that suits its compact proportions perfectly. Black leather upholstery completes the sporty yet elegant look of the interior.

The vehicle has been regularly serviced over the years and today presents in well-maintained condition. Its most recent technical confirmation came with a fresh Swiss MFK inspection in January 2026. This gives the Mini a solid basis for its next owner and leaves it ready for many more enjoyable drives.

A slightly sportier character is provided by the fitted Bastuck stainless-steel sports exhaust system with EC approval. It enhances the characteristic sound of the small four-cylinder engine without fundamentally altering the Cooper's everyday usability. For anyone wishing to return the Mini closer to its original specification in the future, the original exhaust system is included with the sale.
