History:
Launched in 1954 to offer a more affordable and comfortable alternative to the legendary 300 SL, the 190 SL was based on a “Ponton” sedan body style. It was equipped with a 1.9-liter four-cylinder engine producing 105 hp, paired with a four-speed manual transmission. This two-seater convertible was a huge commercial success, with over 25,000 units produced, appealing to celebrities such as Grace Kelly and Miles Davis.

🇳🇱 This Mercedes-Benz 190 SL was first registered on July 1, 1959, in the Netherlands.

🇫🇷 This SL was imported into France in 2009. It is currently registered as a classic car. Its current owner purchased it at an auction held by Aguttes in Lyon on November 8, 2014.

The car has a documented history, including several invoices, appraisals, and administrative documents spanning over a decade. It underwent a complete restoration in 2008 and is now presented in a configuration faithful to the original, both aesthetically and mechanically.

Condition: The car is in very good overall condition.

🚘 The bodywork presents a beautiful overall appearance, consistent with the vehicle’s age. The DB620 ivory white paint has been repainted and has a beautiful sheen. The chrome trim and original wheels with hubcaps are generally very well preserved. The black alpaca soft top is in perfect condition and its mechanism operates normally. The body structure is sound and free of corrosion. The body seals and exterior components have been replaced.

The interior is in excellent condition and has been fully restored. The red leather seats and upholstery have been refurbished and feature a remarkable quality of finish. The carpets and door panels have also been redone, in keeping with the original configuration. The dashboard is in very good condition. All the on-board instrumentation is functional. The car is equipped with a vintage Becker Europas car radio.

⚙️ The entire mechanical system has been restored and runs perfectly. The various repairs carried out over the years, particularly regarding the carburetion, ignition, and engine adjustments, ensure the vehicle runs smoothly. The transmission shifts gears smoothly and precisely. The handling is excellent.
