Italian title Engine n° 826.100 *1188* - Wonderful condition - Very rare model, refined, sporty and sought-after - In the same family ownership since 1975 First registered in Rome in 1965 with the number 18813 Roma, this Lancia Flaminia Zagato was subsequently sold in Perugia in 1969, and its libretto and current registration document dates from this period. Since then, it has spent its days in this town set in the heart of Italy, leading a peaceful life in the hands of a small number of owners. The first was Giancarlo Furiosi, who only kept it for a few days, probably as an intermediary, before selling the car to Lancia enthusiast, Giovanni Ballanti. Ballanti sold it to his family friend, our collector, in 1975. It has not changed hands since that time, explaining its condition and air of belonging to another era. The old, red paintwork has a patina that gives the car its charm. The interior boasts seats that have been restored, and show little sign of wear but no tear. Under the bonnet, the 2.8-litre V6 engine has three twin-choke Weber carburettors with trumpet intakes, emphasizing the car's sporting vocation. The file includes some period items including insurance documents and Foglio Complementare. Having not been driven in recent years, it requires a service before taking to the road once more. The Super Sport Zagato was the ultimate evolution of a model that was launched in 1957 as a luxurious saloon designed by Pininfarina. The same coachbuilder also produced a large coupé and it was in 1959, with the arrival of the Touring and Zagato coupés, that the sporting personality of the car began to emerge. Initially equipped with a 2.5-litre engine, this increased to 2.8-litres in 1963, with the power increasing from 100 to 140 bhp on the second series. The Zagato version itself had three series. The first, the Sport, had a body with headlights under covers, whereas the second series sports a more conventional front shape. The third series, the Super Sport, adopted a more slender radiator grille with recessed headlights. Modifications on this car were not only purely aesthetic, as the 2.8-litre V6 engine with three carburettors produced 152 bhp. Being light, with aluminium panels, the car had a top speed of 210 km/h, making it the fastest Flaminia. It was also the rarest, as just 150 examples were produced. Displaying a charming patina, this Super Sport presents an exceptional basis for restoration, and offers a unique opportunity for an enthusiast.
