Serial number: 1172860
History:
Introduced in 1966, the Jensen Interceptor pairs a large fastback coupe designed by Carrozzeria Touring with an American Chrysler V8. It is among the rarest great British GTs of its era.
This example has been in the same family since 1989. The car was restored between 2016 and 2020 for a total of nearly EUR 35,000.
Since then, the car has been started and used regularly.
Condition:
This Jensen Interceptor is in very good presentation condition.
🚘 The bodywork was restored in 2020 by the VRC workshop, a well-regarded specialist, including:
Panel work;
Complete stripping of the exterior paint;
New paint all over;
Treatment and restoration of the chrome trim.
A photo file documents this work and attests to the quality of the workmanship.
Originally coral in color, a beautiful British racing green was chosen during the restoration. The paint is uniform and presents very well. The chrome trim and wheels are in excellent condition.
The cabin is particularly well preserved. The front seat leather is in good condition, with a certain patina. The center console and dashboard are also in very good condition. All of the onboard instrumentation is functional, except for the air conditioning.
⚙️ The car is in very good working order. The engine starts without difficulty, hot or cold, and delivers its full power. The automatic gearbox shifts smoothly.
Between 2016 and 2023, the car benefited from significant work:
Late 2016 - EUR 7,000: Engine, gearbox and differential oil change, complete rebuild of the radiator and replacement of the wiring harness, cleaning, overhaul and adjustment of the carburetor and ignition, fuel pump, brake caliper overhaul, repair of various electrical problems, etc.;
2018: Fitting of two Spal fans, starter motor rebuild;
2019 - EUR 3,300: Removal, overhaul and refitting of the gearbox;
2020: Front brake pad replacement;
2023: Alternator replacement.
🛞 The tires were replaced in late 2016 when the car had 13,500 km.
