Legacy of the 250 GT/E

The Ferrari 250 GT/E (E for Europe) was Ferrari’s first production 2+2, designed to offer increased cabin space without compromising performance.

Styled by Pinin Farina, it featured elegant proportions, a sleek fastback profile, and a luxurious interior, making it the ideal grand tourer.

As part of the legendary 250 series, the GT/E played a crucial role in Ferrari’s history, helping to fund their global racing endeavors.

Enzo Ferrari decided to have a four-seater Ferrari developed, based on the 250, who needed a car to carry himself, his driver, his wife, and their beloved pet dog.

Today, the 250 GT/E 2+2 remains an elegant, smooth-running and important piece of Ferrari's automotive heritage.

With only 954 units produced between 1960 and 1963, and around 500 surviving today, this Blu Torbillon over Light Tan Leather example stands as a stunning and rare collect

The three Weber 36 DCL/3 carburettors ensure precise and efficient fuel supply, which is one factor in the vehicle’s impressive performance capability.

The engine produced approximately 240 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and was paired with a 4- speed manual gearbox with overdrive.

This powertrain allowed the car to achieve a top speed of over 140 mph (225 km/h), impressive for the time.

A number of mechanical updates were also introduced, most notably an improved cylinder head that allowed the compression ratio to be raised to 9.1:1.

The multi-tubular chassis was built on a 2,600 mm wheelbase, which provided stability and comfort.

Coil-sprung shocks were installed at the back replacing transverse-leaf springs and the original Borrani RW3591 wheels were replaced with the RW3690 type.
