Unimatic’s new ice-cool new special edition diver is a purist’s dream

The Italian microbrand Unimatic appears to be going from strength to strength with its simple and stylish timepieces, built – to the delight of its devoted community – in small numbers. For its latest (and rarest) special edition Modello Uno, it’s gone sub-zero, both in design and desirability…

Ice cold

Anything goes at Unimatic Watches, so long as it’s beautifully designed, refined yet stylish, and built in limited numbers. We’ve coveted the boutique Italian microbrand since it dropped the original Modello Uno a few years back and we’ve heard its bold plans for the future straight from the founders’ mouths. Suffice to say, you’re all in for a treat. This new special edition of the Modello Uno pays tribute to the Copenhagen niche menswear store Goods, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and, incidentally, was among the first retailers to stock Unimatic’s striking diver. It features an ultra-clean stainless-steel bezel with a white Super-luminova pip at 12 o’clock, a matte-grey dial that, like all of Unimatic’s watches, is easy to read, and a navy-blue heavy-duty nylon nato strap. Just 30 U1-EGs will be built and individually numbered, offered exclusively from Goods either in store in Copenhagen or via its website priced at 670 euros.
