In this film, we follow a Ferrari 250 Europa and a Ferrari 250 Pininfarina Coupé from the workshop bench to the concours lawn, all the way to the judging at Cavallino Classic Modena. The Europa is a rare, deeply original car headed for the preservation class, where history, patina and provenance are everything. The Pininfarina Coupé takes the opposite road, a full nut-and-bolt restoration returning the car to the exact state in which it left the factory. Along the way, the team at Kessel Classic in Lugano opens its doors and shows us what actually goes into preparing a car for a concours, down to the details almost no one ever sees: the cut of a screw, the colour of a hose, the clamps, the stickers on the battery.
Then the judges at Cavallino Classic explain how every car starts on 100 points, how points are deducted, and what separates a winner from the rest. Whether you are thinking of entering a concours for the first time or you are simply curious about this often secretive world, this is how to concours.
