Editor's Choice: 1970 Dodge Challenger Hemi R/T Cabriolet

U.S. Classic Driver dealer Angryjuan is currently offering a rare Hemi Dodge Challenger R / T Convertible recreation in excellent condition. Resplendent in its ‘Vitamin C’ colour, it’ll no doubt have a vitalising effect on the future owner.

Just 12 Hemi Dodge Challenger R / T Convertibles were built, which explains why they can now command three-quarters of a million dollars – think of them as the Ferrari 275 GTB/4 of the muscle car world. The car on offer here from Classic Driver dealer Angryjuan apparently started life as a small-block convertible with low mileage, and has subsequently been transformed into a faithful recreation of the Mopar-tuned icon.

The body has been fully restored and finished in the eye-catching ‘Vitamin C’ orange it wears today, while a new 426 cubic inch (that’s almost 7.0 litres in our money) V8 has taken the place of the car’s stock motor. Said powerplant produces a dyno-tested 465HP, thanks to the addition of Mopar intakes and Edlebrock carbs. Inside, air-conditioning has been retro-fitted and uses the existing dashboard vents.

More than 170,000 U.S. dollars have apparently been spent on upgrading the Challenger to its present state – which makes its 92,500-dollar asking price even more tempting. To view the advert in full, click here.
