The Breguet company was founded by Abraham-Louis Breguet, who is widely considered to be one of the greatest horologists of all time. Breguet (1747-1823) was born in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, but spent most of his productive life in Paris. He was a creative genius, an innovator and a superb craftsman, and he built up a clientele that included many leading public figures and members of European nobility. Today, the Breguet company is one of the most prestigious names in fine watchmaking, and belongs to the Swatch Group.
