Description

One of the most celebrated and beautiful saloon cars of the postwar era, the Jaguar Mk II achieved legendary status through a potent combination of superb styling, impressive performance from its twin-cam XK engine, and remarkable success in saloon car racing throughout the 1960s at the hands of drivers including Roy Salvadori and Mike Hawthorn. With its compact proportions, elegant interior, and impressive performance, the Mk II offered an unusually compelling blend of sporting ability and traditional British luxury.

This example has been upgraded with various modern features to enhance its usability and performance while preserving its period character. Its significant modifications include the fitting of an automatic transmission, upgraded suspension, and wider wire wheels. The car also features four-piston brake calipers with vented front rotors. Further thoughtful refinements include an upgraded alternator, aluminum radiator, air-conditioning, and a conversion to negative-ground electrics. Together, these upgrades address many of the practical considerations associated with regular use of a 1960s sporting saloon.

The combined effect of these carefully chosen modifications is a machine that retains the elegance and distinctive appearance of the original Mk II while offering greater comfort and convenience for modern driving.
