Description
First registered in April 1995, this Porsche 911 Turbo belongs to one of the most celebrated generations in the history of the 911. The 993 Turbo represents an important milestone for Porsche: it was the final generation of the 911 Turbo to retain the legendary air-cooled flat-six engine, marking the end of an era that had defined Porsche’s flagship sports car for decades.
It was also the first production 911 Turbo to feature twin turbochargers. Its 3.6-litre flat-six produced 408 hp in standard specification, an exceptional figure for the mid-1990s and one that firmly established the 993 Turbo among the fastest and most capable road cars of its period.
Visually, the Turbo was immediately distinguished from the rest of the 993 range by its dramatically widened bodywork. Approximately 60 mm wider than the standard Carrera, its pronounced rear arches, distinctive fixed rear spoiler and purposeful stance created one of the most recognisable silhouettes in Porsche history.
Finished in Arena Red, this German-market example has covered 113,750 km and was most recently registered in Italy. During its life, the car has been repainted and its original engine was replaced. A new engine was subsequently purchased through Porsche Bologna, an important part of the car’s documented history.
More recently, the car has benefited from an extensive service and mechanical programme totalling approximately €18,500, ensuring that considerable attention has been given to its mechanical condition and preparation.
Combining the unmistakable wide-body design of the 993 Turbo with the character of Porsche’s final air-cooled Turbo generation, this Arena Red example offers the opportunity to own one of the defining high-performance 911s of the 1990s.
