The Nissan GT-R established itself as one of the defining performance cars of its generation, combining formidable pace with sophisticated four-wheel-drive technology and remarkable everyday usability. This example, however, has been developed far beyond factory specification. The subject of an extensive programme of engine, transmission, chassis and aerodynamic upgrades, its accompanying history file contains invoices exceeding £60,000, while the vendor advises that total investment comfortably surpasses £100,000 when the principal engine and transmission builds, specialist labour and supporting modifications are considered.

Central to the transformation is a JM Imports Signature Specification VR38DETT engine. Built around a fully balanced rotating assembly, it incorporates CP forged pistons, Carrillo connecting rods, a billet crankshaft, CNC-ported cylinder heads, JUN camshafts, uprated valve gear, ACL Race bearings and ARP fasteners. Further upgrades include HKS timing components, a Tomei oil pump, revised cooling, forged oil-control baffle and Boost Logic catch tank. The specification is understood to have been engineered to support outputs exceeding 1,500 bhp. Forced induction is courtesy of a Greddy TD06HR-25G turbocharger package incorporating BorgWarner billet compressor wheels. An HKS 12-injector inlet manifold, Injector Dynamics ID1700 injectors, Fore Innovations triple-pump fuel system, enlarged Greddy induction system and substantial intercooler arrangement provide the necessary supporting hardware. Exhaust gases are handled by a 102-mm GTC titanium system, while a Syvecs S6+ standalone ECU provides engine management, complemented by a Toucan display and flex-fuel capability. The transmission has received similarly comprehensive attention, incorporating an Albins first-to-sixth gearset and output shafts, Xtreme 18-plate clutch, Dodson components, upgraded differential bracing, 8,000-rpm TCM upgrade and Race Junky transmission software. The vendor advises that the engine build has covered approximately 6,000 to 7,000 miles.

Chassis enhancements comprise H&R suspension, 396-mm brake discs with Pagid RS29 pads, and lightweight Advan Racing magnesium wheels wearing Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. A 2017-specification front-end conversion, LED rear lights and extensive carbon-fibre additions—including an Xtreme splitter, Zele side skirts, fender vents, rear valance and Difflow diffuser—further distinguish the car, which is presently finished in a professional wrap applied by MSL Customs. According to the vendor, the GT-R currently produces approximately 1,070 bhp on Shell V-Power, with up to 1,300 bhp available on race fuel. Owner-supplied figures include a 9.4-second quarter-mile at approximately 160 mph and a 100-200 km/h time of around 3.5 seconds.

The substantial history file includes invoices, dyno records, service history and build documentation, with approximately £10,000 of recent expenditure at JM Imports and Race Junky Performance. A remap was completed approximately 2,000 miles ago. Documentation also records replacement of the speedometer head under warranty on 12 November 2012 at 24,304 miles. With the replacement unit displaying 18,327 miles at the time of cataloguing, total mileage is calculated at 42,950 miles. Representing an opportunity to acquire a comprehensively developed GT-R at a fraction of the likely cost of replicating its specification, this formidable example warrants close inspection.
