When we rebuilt this truck and added the electronic fuel Injection I had no idea how much extra power it would have. It feels like a competition monster truck.
C361 UKV, first registered in August 1985 as a “Land Rover One Ten Station Wagon”. Originally an Ivory White 5-door, converted to Tonga Green Metallic 5-door pickup (crew cab) as part of a 2025restoration.
Built in 1985, this is one of the earliest 3.5L petrol V8 (3528cc) Land Rovers, and now registered “Historic”, but with a whole new life ahead of it with a rebuilt engine fitted with Electronic Fuel Injection, newly refurbished gearbox and transmission, new exhaust system, wiring loom, lights, fully new or meticulously rebuilt engine components, and all new suspension.
Historic is terrific, but we've added Carplay, USB charger, and cup holders to make this a daily runner. Chequerplate rubber matting protects the newly painted floors with washable, durable, nonslip utility.
Never produced as such, we've fitted the ⅔ split rear seats with shoulder harnesses, and adapted them to fold for cargo space. The upholstery is in great condition: original “denim twill” cloth, freshly cleaned.
A Defender never feels complete without a rack, so I repurposed a 1980s Defender farm rack into a dual rack system. Tested at 200 lbs, these galvanized racks are painted with Black Country Paint's British Military coating in matt black.
The original farm-jack is refurbished and installed behind the front seats. Heritage Trust Certificate, V5C Historic registration, and 400 build photos accompany the purchase.
Engine 3528cc v8 petrol
Engine Number: 21G00273
Fuel System: Converted to Lucas 14CUX Electronic Fuel Injection for turn-key starting.
Created with a manual choke starter, we've invested in refitting the original engine with an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system for turn-key starting.
Immobiliser: A Land Rover immobiliser is fitted, taken from the more modern Land Rover model(s). Type 10AS.
The immobiliser disables the engine-crank (starter), and has an independent alarm. Far superior security to any common alarm system.
