Description

This classic car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button. .Beautiful Brazilian Volkswagen T1 Samba, the luxury van from 1974 with 23 windows, beautiful yellow / white colour scheme, open folding roof, open Safari windows front and side and a beautiful new interior.

This original VW T1 from Brazil was completely restored and painted in 2021 by an experienced T1 workshop in Brazil. It is not an original Samba but a beautiful replica with all the details and sun windows. The van was completely resprayed in the beautiful two-tone combination of yellow with a lotus white roof. The chassis, the axles and the doors are in very good condition, also along the bottom, see photos. The bottom was sprayed along in yellow.

This T1 has the well-known air-cooled 1500cc engine with 4 cylinders. The engine runs fine and the transmission shifts properly.

The interior was fully reupholstered with new materials: new curtains, headliner, side panels, new seats, sun visors, and of course the folding roof that can be opened. The seats are beautifully upholstered with a combination of light grey imitation leather on the side and white seat areas. The sewn patterns in the seats complete the look along with the chrome seat rails. The front windows are pop-up Samba windows, they fold open. New, original chrome-plated Volkswagen logo on the front and original VW rims with chrome hubcaps. The curtains, whitewall tyres and double roof rack complete this van.

The van was restored in Brazil to local standards which are lower than if it had been a European restoration. You’d pay 4 times more for an original T1 Samba. This is your chance to own a beautiful T1 Samba replica for a good price. The van still has a Brazilian registration certificate for registration almost anywhere in Europe. Some country-specific work might still need doing, or final adjustments to meet European requirements and your own quality standards.

A 50-year-old van will of course have the odd spot, and we’re not sure the tank gauge works. New ignition lock fitted, the ignition key no longer fits on the door locks. This Volkswagen T1 is really beautiful all around and in very good condition. The van is being sold ‘as is’. This is a private sale, warranty does not apply.

The van is in DELDEN (the Netherlands) and you are welcome to view it prior to placing a bid. You can get my details via Catawiki.
