Description

This classic car is for sale on Catawiki. To have more information or to place a bid click on the "BID NOW" button. .Magnificent Volkswagen T1 Samba, the 1970 luxury van with 23 windows, open folding roof, open Safari windows on the front and side, and a beautiful new interior.

This original VW T1 from Brazil was restored and painted in 2021 by an experienced T1 workshop in Brazil, which had already worked on more than 50 T1's. It is not an original samba but a beautiful replica with all the details and sun windows. The van was entirely repainted in the beautiful two-tone combination "green base with lotus white roof". The chassis, the axles and the doors are in a good condition, as well as the bottom, please see the photos. The bottom was also repainted in the green colour.

This T1 has the well-known air-cooled 1500cc engine with 4 cylinders. The engine runs fine and the transmission shifts properly.

The interior was entirely reupholstered with new materials: new curtains, headliner, side panels, new seats, sun visors, and of course the folding roof that can be opened. The seats are truly beautifully upholstered with a combination of white imitation leather on the side and beige / brown fabric seats. The front windows are pop-up samba windows, they fold open. A new, original chrome-plated Volkswagen logo at the front, original VW rims with chrome hubcaps. The curtains, white wall tyres and double roof rack complete this van. It even has a rear protector (so-called jail bars) at the rear windows.

This van has been adapted in the Netherlands to the European requirements, such as European headlights, brakes checked, a new 12V battery, a windscreen washer system and 12V cigarette lighter were installed. The van was thereafter approved for admission in the Netherlands, has a valid Dutch registration and a new technical vehicle inspection, valid until 2023. Because the van is more than 50 years old, it is exempt from any future Dutch periodic vehicle inspections.

Naturally, there will be spots on a 51-year-old van, for example the tank gauge unfortunately does not work and the ignition key does not fit on the door locks. This Volkswagen T1 is really beautiful all around and is in a very good condition. The van is being sold ‘as is’. This is a private sale, so a warranty does not apply. The van is in DELDEN (the Netherlands) and you are welcome to view the van prior to placing a bid. You can get my details via Catawiki.
